Salesforce launched Data.com in 2011, in partnership with D&B, but has since decided to gradually sunset the platform. Data.com offered a store of company and customer data for use in sales and prospecting.

LeadIQ is a prospecting platform that helps outbound sales teams build pipeline through contact data, a AI cold email writing assistant, contact and account tracking for job changes, and CRM enrichment, all integrated into sales tools used daily.
DiscoverOrg is another database for contact information. We actually use these two resources side by side. We use DiscoverOrg as our primary source since we pay for the subscription and it integrates more easily with our CRMs. Data.com is used by our SDRs as supplementary …
I used DiscoverOrg at a previous employer and I loved it. The information I received was usually reliable and quality, however, the service was quite expensive and I was only able to research the tech industry.
hunter.io is fairly unreliable. The good thing is that they have a …
Currently I have subscriptions to ZoomInfo, Synthio, and GetEmail.IO in addition to my data.com (Jigsaw) account. ZoomInfo is much better than Data.com for direct phone numbers and is very reasonably priced. Synthio has slightly lower quality data but can be much cheaper on a …
I feel RainKing is the winner regarding just contact details and org charts within companies. Their info is better up to date and a little easier to manage and search. However, Data.com might have the advantage when it comes to company breakdown, allowing for actual financial …
Data.com is awful, often times isn't updated or current information isn't used. DiscoverOrg typically is updated or on point with keeping things up to date as possible.
I have used Salesforce and Data.com and although both have their pluses... I prefer the DiscoverOrg format and easy of way I can search for what I'm looking for.
Data.com - nowhere near where discoverorg is on accuracy. Also use LinkedIn BUT the contact info is WAY less than what we get on DiscoverOrg. The ease of use and search fields that DirecoverOrg has is perfect. Anyone can log on without training and learn themselves on how to …
We have found that DiscoverOrg's data is significantly more accurate and robust than Data.com, having used that in the past. DiscoverOrg's database has helped us really clean up the data we had. We chose DiscoverOrg over RainKing for 2017 when we switched away from Data.com due …
Previously, DiscoverOrg fell behind LeadIQ on the user-friendliness and breadth of the information side. After merging with Zoominfo, I must say that Zoominfo plus DiscoverOrg cannot be beaten. They have a very slick user interface, contact information for companies as small as …
Data.com and Zoom Info have integrated with DiscoverOrg. Now DiscoverOrg is much more expensive, but the data is very similar to Data.com/Zoom Info. What you are paying for is the ease of use and some perks like having some LinkedIn URLs available in DiscoverOrg. When all is …
We reviewed one of their competitors but DiscoverOrg's user interface, their amount of contact and account data, and their overall ease of use were all reasons we went with them. They were a little more expensive but having access to intent keyword data and org charts is what …
DiscoverOrg is a good product. They provide a decently deep level of industry, company, lead/contact information, and they provide a well rounded assortment of filters to ensure that data is tailored to specific needs. The quality of their data is not always extremely high, …
I was not part of the group that chose DiscoverOrg. That was an early objective of my director who had used it at a previous job. We are looking into these other solutions as supplements for DiscoverOrg to fill in the gaps that we see. I think DiscoverOrg's platform stands …
I've only personally used data.com and DiscoverOrg, and from my experience, DiscoverOrg has a much higher rate of accurate information. When building an email list from data.com I had about 20% of the addresses bounce back. Whereas with DiscoverOrg my bounce ratio was around …
It all comes down to the accuracy and maintenance of their data. It is very clear that DiscoverOrg has the resources and a great research team to ensure that their information is very accurate. It is great knowing that when you are reaching out to a specific prospect, that …
There are companies that specialize in many things in this vertical, but I feel like the quality of data that we have experienced with LeadIQ is on par, if not better, than the other companies that we looked at. Our reps don't get bogged down with a lot of metadata as well, …
When it comes to data accuracy, LeadIQ has an upper hand. Also, the user interface is more user-friendly. They have a pop-up bar on the side of the screen instead of having to go to another page to use it. Also, it integrates with Gmail pretty well.
There are many scenarios that make data.com well suited, but most specifically, it works very well when looking for contacts within a certain zip code. You can sort and find information about these contacts and pay by points. This helps because you are able to pick and choose which you want to pay for.
Uses [of DiscoverOrg] include searching for prospects in accounts. Getting all of the relevant contact information in one place. Using the export button saves time by allowing you to select one or more leads to import into CRM. Sophisticated search allows for you to build lists, and export as above. Good support with various experts available to help you get started and get better at using it.
I think LeadIQ is a great tool. It helps me with prospecting, writing emails, finding information about prospects, etc. I use it daily when writing emails and trying to find people to reach out to. It works well with CRM integration, and most of the time, the extension and scribe functions are working. Sometimes, the numbers are not accurate.
Data.com is a great way to find out accurate revenue and employee numbers for companies across various industries.
Data.com's filtering capabilities allow our team to quickly find the ideal prospects to reach out to.
Data.com, being owned by Salesforce, allows for a seamless integration into our CRM. This saves us an incredible amount of time and ensures data accuracy.
Prospecting Lists/Lead Gen - Discover Org does this very well because of it's ability to provide current information (email/phone) on an individual at a company. It's easy to segment & drill down by categories - to find the right targets to reach out to.
Insights - DiscoverOrg is great at providing insights or "scopes" on prospects as well. Meaning it will show who is handling what project (Decision-Maker) and what projects they are particularly interested in at the moment/what initiatives. For example, the scopes may show that they are interested in AI initiatives or a Merger & Acquisition or Digital Transformation & will say who is in charge of the initiative.
Stellar filtering capabilities - you can filter lists in so many ways. You can go by function, or even look at companies with small marketing teams (let's say less than 10), or you can search for companies with an "x" amount of $ budget for IT spend. Or even companies that use a specific HR workplace management system.
Capturing contact and lead information: Name, Designation, Phone Numbers, Work Email Address, Company board line number - almost every single data point one needs in lead or demand generation. The checkmark for verified information is a cherry on the cake.
LeadIQ integrates with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesforce, and even SalesLoft pretty well. A simple click of a button from LSN can import the lead into Salesforce. A boon for any Outbound sales team. Additionally, capturing multiple contacts in a single go as well as importing them into a cadence is a time--saver.
It's also a community. Since users can suggest changes to make lead information more accurate as well as the option to request more information on a particular lead.
Some contacts can be old. Perhaps they could consider validating some that are older than 5 years.
They don't always detect duplicate companies. For example, I've added the same company twice before, I don't understand how they allow that, or prevent others from adding duplicates. It doesn't happen very often,, only occasionally.
Sometimes data.com will "autocorrect" a job title incorrectly. For example, entering "Director of People & Culture" will autocorrect it to "Director of peopleandculture" If you don't catch it, it looks pretty bad for the next person who wants to view the contact.
Improvement on the search capabilities - since there is so much to search (which is a plus) it makes it harder to do this in a timely manner. You have to dedicate a certain amount of time to be able to pull a proper, useful and clean list.
Make it more user friendly - there are so many different tabs, search buttons, pull down, etc. I think it can be quite confusing to a new user.
Rocky start to using it - but good follow up with customer service.
It can create duplicates in salesforce sometimes which is a headache for some departments who require salesforce to be our pure data source.
Sometimes the numbers aren't correct for the right individual - it gets numbers from wrong people with the same name - this has only happened a couple of times, very rare.
The tool is simply better than most other lead/company data repositories, and they are dedicated to keeping their data clean, even if they are far from accomplishing this task at present. The tool works, and it is relatively easy to use. Overall, DiscoverOrg provides the level of lead/contact, customer, and even industry level data the sales orgs have come to expect from this sort of tool in a format that is fairly easy to use. They do also provide support for sales teams looking to use the tool effectively, which is great!
We have been very happy with LeadIQ for the past several years. They have quality data at a fair price and that is the most important thing for us. Their product continues to grow and expand and they are great to work with from a customer experience point of view.
Very intuitive to use and I've never had any confusion with features. Anyone can create an account and use the platform simply by adding a contact or company into the database to earn points. It's a great option if you don't have budget for lists or pay services. It is easy to use and anyone can benefit from it.
the data pool of contacts and lead info could be better compared to the other software competitors. The software is still quite easy to use and it has an extension which makes it easy to work side by side with either linkedin or salesforce. One item that doesn't work well which the rep showed us was pulling up the account page on salesforce and LeadIQ being able to pull up the company details based on the domain. That isn't working for us. Perhaps it's the industry we're in.
Whenever I've had a question their support has responded pretty quickly and gives me exactly what I am looking for. I have not had any technical issues so I can't speak to issues there, but as far as general questions from a free user they have impressed me with how quickly they get back to me and the thoroughness of their answers.
I have yet to contact LeadIQ regarding support for the tool. Usability is pretty straight forward, and I was trained well to use the tool properly. I am giving the rating of a five since I can not say I have had contact with the support team.
Adobe Workfront may not be the direct competitor of Data.com, but for the services I was using, Workfront looked a little better when it comes to the user interface. But Data.com definitely had more powerful features & better integration capabilities. Also, it was easier to play around with the customer journey in Data.com as compared to other tools I have used in the past.
ZoomInfo acquired DiscoverOrg and I believe legacy DiscoverOrg will phase out in the near future. ZoomInfo is 100x better than DiscoverOrg and are very pleased with it's functionality and easy of use. We only selected DiscoverOrg because we were on an auto-renewal contract and did not unsubscribe in time. We did not plan to renew DiscoverOrg. But since then we have been upgraded to ZoomInfo and are finding much more value in that platform than we did in DiscoverOrg.
The user experience and design of the platform + the data health were far superior to UpLead and the other tools I demoed. I was also impressed by the pricing structure and the ability for me to pick and choose my plan or customize based on the sales team numbers and team capacity.
After using DiscoverOrg, our lead are now well qualified and suitable. We are able to generate good and qualified. This is the positive impact.
After using DiscoverOrg, our sales team is now able to cold call the target contacts, the number provided by DiscoverOrg, the interaction held is now increased and we are able to produce good leads.
After using DiscoverOrg, we are able to understand better because of their reports and dashboards which is very informative.
So far not a happy customer. We have had a few positive results but for the most part, all phone numbers are relatively inaccurate or they are personal numbers scraped from LinkedIn. When calling a personal number, people are surprised and find it intrusive.
We would not recommend this service until it invests more into correct corporate switchboard numbers at the bare minimum. Currently, these are often incorrect.
