Paycom solved our primary needs to pay our employees and it’s furthermore solved our so many additional HR problems as well. So it’s much more advance than the other similar software.

Paycom had the best ROI for the features we wanted and more customization options. Namely did not have all the features we wanted and UltiPro's sales representative did not seem think it was worth their time to demo to us, so we went with someone who wanted our business who …
Paycom has leverage over all systems I've worked on outside of Workday. Workday has the ability to be a global HRIS. Paycom is a single sign-on home built system versus the others have use interfaces to have a complete solution.

Paycom has some features that the others don't have. But we found that we couldn't rely on the data being correct so that required extra work to verify reports, etc. What I have appreciated about UltiPro is that they will tell you if something isn't going to work and then you …
[We selected Paycom for its] Integrated system - and user friendly reporting.

On a scale from 1- 10 compared to ADP and UltiPro, Paycom comes in at 3. I wasn't involved in the selection process, however, I believe the main reason we purchased Paycom was because they sold it as a Global system and it turned out to be anything but that.

Paycom is also a great software that I recommend, but I think it's better suited to smaller companies with smaller human resources departments that may need extra support or looking to do less in the system. UltiPro is better, in my opinion, for larger sized companies where you …

The reporting is more robust with UKG Pro versus Paycom.
Paycom was really good but Ulti won out over them for us because of a values match. That was four years ago and before the merger though, so I don't know if that is still as aligned as it was.
The customer service and the product/services. ADP was never able to fix anything and it took multiple days sometimes weeks to get back to us on issues. Paycom wasn’t but the platform definitely wasn’t as robust as UKG.

We left ADP for UKG Pro due to poor customer service and inability to access the backend. Highflyer did not meet California regulatory requirements. Paycom's sales personnel were lacking and did not represent the company well (e.g. late for demos, did not meet the RFP deadline).
Paycom -- DO NOT LIKE their sales tactics. Very unprofessional. The product has evolved and is looking quite decent from where it started, but I will never use them again. ADP -- I have used it for all different facets in my career. They can never get all their systems …
UltiPro blows away the competition as it is so much easier to use and integrated. It is much easier to customize reports in UltiPro vs the other systems we have tried and reviewed. In addition, the data is easier to find. I would not switch back for any reason at all.
Better quality, more robust, more customization. With many of these other systems, you get a pre-packaged, cookie-cutter system that often lacks the ability to custom-tailor the system to meet your company needs. Not the case with UKG Pro.

I didn't select UKG Pro at this company. That decision was made prior to my joining. However, I have had the opportunity to evaluate UKG Pro next to ADP Workforce Now, and I opted to go with ADP Workforce Now. The reasons for that decision boiled down to the level of control …
We decided on UKG vs the companies listed above due to their commitment to customer service, having a focus on being a great place to work for their associates, and product offerings.

We stayed with UKG because ultimately we would have to transfer our data. However, we will perform our due diligence every couple of years. Also at the time, the customer service was phenomenal.
When it comes to service and support, there is no comparison between UKG, Ceridian, ADP, Workday or other HCM vendors out there. The support that we have received over the previous three years has been the best I've ever experienced in my 15+ years of working in human resources …

We are continuously comparing UKG against other systems. UKG offers a lot but we are unsure if it is matching our exact needs. We have not decided to switch our HRIS because it would currently be more work to move systems than to reconfigure this one to our needs.
UKG Pro is competitive in its pricing models but more transparent than some other products we have used. They are consistently ranked as one of the top employers in their industry and this comes across in all dealings with their employees from contract negotiations, to …
After a long selection process, we went with UKG - which had the highest launch price tag of all the vendors we reviewed - because of its amazing capacity for configurability. We were also drawn to the culture within UKG. It made the most sense to us that a company with a …
UltiPro's reporting capability and the ability to easily see employment, compensation, and job history in a logical format and screen view were are main reasons for selecting UltiPro.
I have used a lot of different HRIS systems over 23 years in HR. Paycom is by far has the most comprehensive suite of options that is easy to use for end users and administrators. Their support is top notch in the industry, from helping you with setup and implementation to troubleshooting issues. Paycom has dedicated staff for you to reach out to at any time that are knowledgeable and work towards resolutions.
UKG is less appropriate for small-mid size businesses. The cost of the product makes it difficult for me to recommend the product to smaller organizations. For the rest, I would say that UKG greatly helps organize processes and workflows for businesses. It is a great tool for managers and employees alike
I would like to see a extra time given for training to employer and employees before going live for the first payroll process without the pressure of a definitive start date. I was told we would be charged additional fees if we could not start on the date we decided on and then was dropped in the middle of my first payroll run because the client service had a pre arranged appointment with another client. The first payroll run was very chaotic and stressful. Please be sure your client is comfortable and ready before processing. And perhaps plan to spend that first entire Payroll day with them.
Would like to see more long-term client service assigned to our account. We have had ours change several times within the year and it just feels good knowing your going to call and speak with someone that knows you and/or your business well and can give a better educated answer based on your specific business needs.
We are having an issue with our 2021 taxes and a discrepancy between what was reported to the IRS and the SS admin. I have supplied all the 941 information from our previous payroll provider that was sent to the IRS. I can not seem to get a real good answer about the discrepancy yet. Hoping this will be resolved soon though. I wish we had open access to speak directly to a tax team member. Everything gets communicated between a client service rep and it is difficult when they do not understand the tax situation.
Indeed Easy Apply Integration - has been down for a long time due to issues, but it makes it difficult because this is a useful feature that we have to manually add applicants to positions.
Recruiting Gateway - there are issues with re-hiring previous employees and hiring current interns because the email is always linked to the organization's email if hired in the system. No easy way to do this.
More features in the Recruiting Gateway - it would be nice to have more options for moving candidates around and creating a way to send mass emails to a pool of applicants created.
We've made the mistake of moving away from Paycom to a PEO which had made a lot of promises, that they could not keep. Less than a year after that transition, we returned to Paycom and are happier than ever.
We are overall happy with UltiPro and it works well for our organization and we have plans to expand our usage of it even more so we will definitely be continuing with the product. We are thinking of adding the functionality for training and recruiting as well, which is an add-on product
The system is very user friendly. Once you navigate where your information is stored under the forms you are golden. While the training amplified my capabilities and knowledge, I could have jumped into the system without and training and managed just fine. This probably one of my favorite parts about Paycom!
We are functioning very well with almost all UKG Products. We continuously look for other areas we can use the system to increase efficiencies in our processes. UKG Pro has been very instrumental in putting HR in a position to have a seat at the table when business decisions are made, and data is needed to support new projects.
I've found Ultipro to be completely reliable. Outages are typically planned to occur on weekends and only once did I have connections issues connecting Citrix to the server where our environment was housed, but within the hour connection was restored. I think that's a pretty good track record, considering I've used the suite daily for over three years. Especially when processing payroll--say the internet goes down in the middle of you performing a task... Ultipro is able to recognize that a connection error occurred and quickly restores the process that was running, avoiding lost productivity.
Normally UKG Pro loads quickly. We had been having major issues with reports running in a timely manner but recently they broke out our virtual server to another instance where is wasn't sharing resources and that seems to have helped reporting run more efficiently.
Paycom is the best payroll and HR software I have utilized in my 30 plus years as a CPA working in private industry. I am always confident in the software and my support team. The software is updated on an ongoing basis automatically. Paycom relieves a lot of stress over this vital area of any business.
Support is quick to respond and helpful when you don't understand how to use or implement their response. They are great at following up and checking in as well as escalating cases when they are more urgent and need more attention.
I've been to a few in-person (hands on) training sessions and it is very similar to the online classes. You have the same reference material to look back on after the training. So regardless of in person training or online you really get the same thing.
All the online training modules were short and straight to the point. Every module teach you how to use the system. If there is one thing they know how to do is training. We did implementation during the pandemic so all had to be done online or via zoom meetings.
I love that it's free and flexible. Some of it could have a little more hands-on and have trainers that can answer different scenarios. If the trainer has not been a user, they may not always be able to relate. In most cases they do a great job at answering questions.
Not at all satisfied it was a nightmare we spent over 8 months with the implementation team having issues after issues all related to the Puerto Rico regulations (half my employees are in Puerto Rico) and at the end we were moved over from the implementation team to the production team without all the issues being resolved
Make sure you have all of your tax account information with all the states you are registered in available and that you are knowledgeable about the filing status, frequency, etc. We had some unique challenges with our state unemployment tax set up that I was not aware of and needed to be addressed prior to going live. Working with the state unemployment office can be a challenge.
Paycom blows both Heartland and ADP away. No comparison. I had nothing but issues with the others and no issues to speak of with Paycom. I will recommend Paycom to anyone looking for a truly all-in-one provider.
UKG Pro won hands-down. The flexibility, the family feel of the partnership, the customer support model, the reporting, the scalability, and the custom-programming needs of company-specific items were all much better than the competitors. The cost comparison also came in either close to or less than the others so the cost/benefit FAR outweighed the competitors.
We no longer have a full-time HR manager. The duties are split between a Controller and another manager-reduced costs-all in an $80,000/year savings.
Employee self-management of benefits enrollments eliminated manager support for the process. It's completely self-administered by the employee, probably saves 80 hours of administrative work at a minimum and eliminating any chance that management makes an error on the employee's record.
