Excellent for Ecommerce Email Marketing THE BEST EVER

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a Shopify Agency so we work with dozens of ecommerce clients across different sectors. We primarily support with on site conversion, but a big part of this is conversion and we need to ensure our merchants are re-targetting users who are engaged with their brand. That's where Klaivyo comes in. Klaviyo is what 9/10 of our clients use for their email marketing so often we support with setups, and advising on what they are missing.

Pros

  • Segmentation
  • Flows
  • Editor and email builder

Cons

  • Some Shopify integrations are limited (e.g. smartwishlist has limited segmentation options with klaivyo)
  • Pricing can sometimes be a sticking point for our brands
  • Would be helpful also if there was more AI integrations that recommended to brands what kind of flows they should have based on their business model

Return on Investment

  • Allowed out merchants to immediately increase revenue
  • Increased CLTV [Customer lifetime value]
  • Allowed us to add new functions which are backed by email campaigns (e.g. loyalty campaigns, preorder etc...)

Klaviyo its almost perfect.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use it for campaigns on new products, sales, promotions, and general info, as well as automated email flows for e-commerce, such as abandoned cart, browse abandonment, and winback campaigns. Their tool is easy for designers to use to create templates for the company, helping us grow sales and maintain a healthy email subscriber list.

Pros

  • Template Management.
  • Automated Emails/Flows.
  • Custom Reporting.
  • Easy UX.

Cons

  • Auto updating templates in flows.
  • More in depth reporting.
  • Easier to create segments.

Return on Investment

  • Continued growth from 10-20% YoY.
  • Improved retention rate of customers.
  • Help increase awareness of new products.
  • Helped recover abandoners on site to improve conversion rate.

One of the best email apps around.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Klaviyo for all of our marketing emails that go out nearly every day! As well as our newsletter. And as a result it's an amazing tool at not just sending, but in collecting the data on those emails. Allowing us to know what subjects garnered a click, which products people clicked on the most, and how often people unsubscribe from just 1 too many emails.

Pros

  • Data Collection! It's extremely good at tracking the steps a user goes through from email to purchase.
  • Flows that allow for complex logic, multiple steps, and filtering based on how recently other emails were sent.
  • Blitzing out a campaign of hundreds of thousands of emails without missing a beat.

Cons

  • The flow system can be a little convoluted.
  • Transactional emails can be a little tricky to setup, and their automated assistant will often redirect you when you try to get help. (It requires manual intervention, but if the AI bot is keeping you from accessing anyone, you'll never get it approved.)
  • Campaigns and flows can be a little trick to search for and lead to confusing/doubling up when you realize you could have just reused a template you've made previously.

Return on Investment

  • Saves the support team hours, we've had people swear they have not gotten an email...and you can see that they opened it 3 times in the last 48 hours.
  • Fraud Reduction! Because of the tracking, you can find out when a customer is trying to say they didn't receive notice about an upcoming subscription, but they had, and clearly deliberately are hoping for pity to receive both a refund and the item that was delivered.

A no-brainer for SMBs ready to scale

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Klaviyo proved to be a key tool in our migration to a new ecom platform and relaunch of our DTC business. The onboarding easily allowed us to import our existing mailing list and warm it up, and their team assisted us in developing proper pre and post sales flows, along with transactional messages that were more robust than what our ecom platform offered. Klaviyo provided a source of truth that integrated fully with our ecom platform and allowed us to accurately track activity and tag customers with relevant data.

Pros

  • custom contact tagging, allowing additional data to be added to contacts based on forms, emails opened/clicked etc.
  • flow building visualizer, makes it easy to create if/thens
  • custom report building
  • great customer support availability, chat support can usually be reached in minutes for questions and issues.

Cons

  • Report builder is unintuitive, could use drag-drop functionality
  • MFA expires every 24 hours - it would be nice to adjust the frequency
  • Editing templates while setting up a campaign gets a little confusing, sometimes it's hard to tell what step in the process we are, resulting in looping through the config several times.

Return on Investment

  • Increased our returning customer % significantly
  • Allowed ease of remarketing to highly engaged customers
  • Made expanding campaign plans easy and effective

Klaviyo - A Must Have for eCommerce Companies.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Klaviyo for communicating with our customers. This includes marketing messages as well as transactional messages. It's great to have all of those systems integrated into a single source. Even being able to see what a customer had in their cart when they attempt to use a coupon can help us diagnose where the breakdown occurred. We have Klaviyo deeply integrated into our tech stack to deliver a unified customer experience.

Pros

  • Tracking
  • Customization
  • Integrations

Cons

  • More fine tuned reporting.
  • Integration importing of contacts (default to active, inactive, or no change for contacts imported from integrations).

Return on Investment

  • Positive impact in time to value for customized emails.
  • We see great return and customer satisfaction from "letter from the founder" emails for first-time customers.
