During a firmware upgrade procedure, support has identified a lack of redundancy on one of our hosts by communicating and providing time to resolve the issue without interruption of service. This was a proactive attitude. We had trouble with UEFI boot. Support reported as soon as the option was made available for the firmware to be updated.

It has been everytime we asked. Whether it was a challenge with extending a volume and LUN or upgrading the software. They take the time to make sure you are comfortable with the plan and then execute very smoothly. They are the model of how support should be offered.

During our upgrade process, they held our hand and walked us through what they were going to do and when... We felt like communication with them was easy and they spared no detail during the process to help us feel good about what was going to happen. Was the smoothest upgrade we have ever had.

We had a controller that went unresponsive. After working at it for several hours remotely, they had me reboot the controller. Once the controller came back up, I expected the support case to be closed. Instead, support kept the case open, collected logs, escalated the findings to their development team and included a bug fix into the next firmware release.

Late at night we got an alert that a drive was predicted to go bad. We didn't even have to call support, a replacement drive was already in our hands that morning. We swapped out the drive expecting it to take some time to fully rebuild. The rebuild was done in under a minute. Zero down time, zero slowness.

Upgrades are always seamless;
Disk replacements are rare, but when necessary they happen within hours on the same day.
They have proactively alerted me to SFP issues on the array that I hadn't noticed myself and we swapped the optic out the same day.

I'll refer again to the initial support experience: timely communication, a zero-interruption upgrade, and very little time required on my behalf. Other than the diligence of ensuring I had current backups of the production environment, I almost felt guilty that I didn't have to do more to complete the software upgrade on a running array in production. Another premiere solution that we used at the time, HPE 3PAR, was resistant to upgrading a production array and only did so after we acknowledged the risk several times. I really can't stress how awesome the Pure support team is: polite, efficient, and knowledgeable - every single time. It's the golden trifecta in my opinion.

It is hard to describe a specific instance. When I started my career a long time ago, I dealt with Cisco extensively I was always impressed with the service they provide - I have to admit that Pure is actually better service than Cisco. Since our support is rolled into the hardware, it is lower over head and easier to manage than Cisco. So while different product lines, I would say PURE has better support that Cisco. Consistently when we have requested support, Pure has helped and fixed our issues.

We had gone over 100% capacity on the unit do to some issues in our VDI environment. It was late at night when the issue occurred I was able to get support on the line quickly. They were able to connect in the background and see what processes were running and work their magic.

Pure Storage offers outstanding support every time. Whenever we need to do a code upgrade we schedule a maintenance window and enable remote support. Pure operators come in and test everything beforehand and we haven't had an issue with upgrades. When there is no maintenance window scheduled RemoteAssist is disabled.

I opened a ticket since the compression seemed to be less efficient than I expected. Support identified an bug and turned around a fix in a couple days. This fix increased the compression by 20%.

There was a situation where one of our customers was facing serious latency issues that was traced back to the storage array, and we were unable to figure out why. From everything we can tell the configurations were all correct and the issue seemed to have come out of nowhere.
We created a case with Pure and they quickly identified the issue was due to debug being enabled on the interfaces, so the support engineer was able to disable it himself and walked me through cycling the cables to reset the interface.

One time our engineers where working at datacenter. One of them accidentally disconnected one of the power supply cables. Pure Storage support immediately contacted us to report the issue, that demonstrated us that they take it very seriously and monitor every corner of the FlashArray, even an issue like this. Very proactive and always attentive.

The fist support ticket was created from IT Support itself!
The found a bug in our SAN configuration. It created unbalanced IO and errors. They requested a dump of our FC switches configuration and find out the solution. It was present for 4 years and has never been found by the precedent storage supplier (HPE) despite a specific audit on SAN, 3 months ago.
Support rocks!

We recently moved a couple of our arrays to a new location. We reached out to support, and they provided us with detailed instructions and remained available while we moved the devices.

Our most recent case was a request from our side to upgrade the arrays to the most recent release of Purity (the operating system on our arrays). We planned it, and they came back to us a couple of days later, asking us if it is possible to postpone the upgrade because they might have found an issue in the release code. Engineering was investigating to see if it is actually an issue in the code or maybe misconfiguration. That is the kind of support and quality that I want. Don't be afraid to postpone things/releases if it otherwise breaks (yes Microsoft I mean you).
