Overall Satisfaction with Pure Storage FlashArray
We deployed two active-active arrays (m50r2) for our group datacenter and all our data workloads are hosted on Pure arrays. We use the Active Cluster feature to build our business continuity plan. Then, this year we have bought an x10 one for a production site (warehouse). Pure Storage FlashArray has solved our storage issues around latency, growth, and protection.
- Data reduction is the best we have ever seen. It is always improved at each release.
- Managing PureStorage FlashArray is very simple and secured, it unloaded the storage from over 80% of charge.
- Support is the most efficient and reliable we have. They are amazingly proactive and reactive in case of failure.
- Design and features are great.
- Growth steps. Increasing arrays is quite expensive because steps between tiers are high.
- Negative: Growth steps.
- Positive: Data reduction allow us to welcome quite all new projects (even urgent surprise ones).
- Postive: Evergreen gold support contract, with controller renew.
Kaminario was not able to achieve synchronized replication, Pure Storage FlashArray did with their active cluster. On speed tests, Pure was with contest again HPE 3PAR FullFlash. And lastly, Evergreen support contract sealed the final decision.

Yes - Support is always very reactive, the maximum wait time has been 2 hours. Solving issues depends on the case, but first issues, which were knowledge issues, were solved quickly.
The fist support ticket was created from IT Support itself!
The found a bug in our SAN configuration. It created unbalanced IO and errors. They requested a dump of our FC switches configuration and find out the solution. It was present for 4 years and has never been found by the precedent storage supplier (HPE) despite a specific audit on SAN, 3 months ago.
Support rocks!
