We do three things with Quadient Inspire: Honor communication preferences by sending letters either in paper form or electronically through secure delivery; Consolidate similar communications to personalize and customize letters; Maintain a central repository of content, fonts, images and variables.

We're currently using Quadient for dozens of letters across multiple departments. It helps us make our communications consistent, accurate, timely and personalized. Before using Quadient Inspire, we had to do manual changes across hundreds of letters. Now we can make changes to things like colors, phone numbers, CST hours and more in minutes. It's taken away a lot of the frustration and busy work from my day-to-day job and allows me to focus on improving communications to better the member experience.

Quadient Inspire works great across multiple letters, departments and use cases. We use it primarily for letters but I know that it can be used with great success for direct mail pieces like postcards or fliers. It's not ideal for email-only campaigns but works great in situations where we want to either send an email or a letter.

  • The time to make global changes to letters (website changes, logo changes etc.) has been reduced by 99%
  • The time to get a new letter launched is significantly reduced, especially for letters with complex variations.
  • We can now send secure communications electronically to members. We couldn't do that at all before.
Every person I've interacted with at Quadient support, from the specialists who helped us design our solution to the tech support team who fields my panicked emails, has been superb. They're knowledgeable, fast and dedicated. I've had show-stopping, catastrophic errors resolved in minutes and extremely complex never-before-seen issues resolved quickly. They know what they're doing and they don't stop until your problem is solved, often without the tiresome back and forth you see from other vendors. They get your problem fixed right the first time.
There are parts of the product that are extremely easy to use, but it can be hard to build it up to get to that point. I'm a power user and I know I've only barely scratched the surface, but the transactional users barely have to lift a finger to get their letters out. There's a lot more that can be done if I had the time and resources to devote to improving our letters more and there are times when the interface is in my way as to meeting those goals, but by and large, it's a swift and easy to use program.
We had several meetings with Quadient's professional services. They came out to collect our requirements and then developed the perfect solution for us. Early on in the process, I got the advice to build our solution to cover all of our letters, not to hyper-focus on a single department or letter type. That leads to more work at the start, but now I can build any letter from any department without any IT intervention. I thank the great advice of the professional services team for that.
Not really. It's not cheap, but it's a great value for what you get. This is enterprise-level software and the cost reflects that. The pay-per-page aspect makes sense too. We get a lot of sheets included in our contract and we use them all. It's a good contract with pricing that makes sense.

Our Customer Communications Management team selected Quadient Inspire as the strategic tool for Composition and Delivery for our correspondence need. We are migrating several legacy applications to the Inspire platform. We are also using Quadient DAS and messenger to help drive digital strategy and customer preference. We have been able to utilize the Inspire suite to automate many manual processes and assist internal users in completing their work more efficiently.

The Quadient team both sales support and PSO are true partners working with customers every step of the way to insure success project goals , with a focus on strategic outcomes for the future. Quadient Inspire and the Quadient team provide great support for migration off legacy composition tools, while also future proofing solutions, and upgrading user experience as part of the migration. Quadient R&D team is continuously coming up with new ways to improve the product and support customer needs.

Overall Quadient team is very responsive and willing to come to the table and provide valuable information and resolution for problems. What tier of support you have would defiantly impact the experience you have. Had some challenges with a few members of the support team , but when brought up with the vendor it was quickly resolved.
In our previous tool sets we constantly had to say no to the business due to "tool limitations", in 4 years with Quadient we never once had to say the tool could not do something the business wanted to do. The Quadient training team is fantastic and Quadient University is a great resource for team members as well. The interfaces are all easy to use and development is much more efficient then our previous tools.
The PSO team is very involved and knowledgeable. Some times there are availability issues due to the number of companies they are supporting but they do their best to deliver on time. PSO cost aren't cheap, but they deliver a big bang for the buck especially on critical projects or involving them in strategic approaches/decisions.
We have had some challenges with the billing/ allignment of purchases to all co term to hit at the same time, but overall the deals were handled very well, and we felt valued by Quadient, and the process was fair and timely.

As a service provider across many industries, RRD has a wide range of requirements for document composition. These reach across the spectrum from managing precomposed document streams through document composition from data with CCM integration and a great variety of blended requirements. We represent customers in nearly every aspect of business and consumer communications from insurance to medical to utility to transactional to kitting and more. These varied industries also have equally varying output requirements. The Inspire tool suite fills many of these requirements with a solid performance that we rely on for continuous automated production. The flexibility of Inspire Designer is second to none and a critical part of our solution architecture.

  • Great internal debugging tool that simplifies and accelerates the development cycle
  • Powerful scripting structure available at nearly every aspect of data management, composition, and finishing allowing for specialized requirements not available in the standard toolset to be met
  • More flexibility in licensing would be beneficial to our unique requirements as a large service provider
  • The Min/Max tool is an easy way to extract either extreme from each field of a data set, but it doesn't generally produce viable data for a complex data structure. A tool that could generate "test" data in a similar way but with the ability to provide parameters regarding the construction would be very beneficial. Often, good test data is often a major delay in starting or testing composition development. This is especially true where PII is involved.
  • As stated earlier, the debug tools are a fantastic tool within Inspire Designer, but there are times when the resulting error seems a bit cryptic. One way to enhance this functionality would be adding a link from the error to a related discussion on the user forum.
  • Add a tool as part of the proofer that is a robust screen reader. This could test for ADA compliance and highlight things that don't meet the standard and link back to the exact area in the design where the tag is available.
  • I'd like to be able to have two views of the document tree open simultaneously showing different segments of the hierarchy.
  • I would like ways to more easily gather related document resources (flows, etc.) and manage their names and family containers other than individually (or having to export as XML and try to manage that behemoth without making a mistake that kills the workflow)
I've been using Quadient Inspire for 14 years. I'm still waiting for the realistic design challenge based on variable data document construction that I am not able to meet. I've had some pretty good challenges, but none that were unsolvable.

  • I am very involved in solution architecture, but not so much in managing the financial aspect. I would not be able to provide this type of detail
Although I do like the simplicity of creating a ticket simply by sending an email, I would like the ability to view the progress of an issue (including multiple tickets from my company) in a tool designed for this purpose. I likely support more of the minor requests personally before they are sent as support requests. But those that go do go out as tickets are difficult to manage unless someone includes me on the request. I am not in favor of more emails. So a tool would be best for me. I do enjoy the robust nature of university.quadient.com. This is a fantastic resource for myself and others at RRD. I would like a more structured and scheduled way to review the underlying architecture and a way for us to map that for review as well as a way for Quadient to present how modifications to this architecture could benefit our production.
I provide internal training to our developer base. I think the basics are very easy to comprehend and you are left with a universe of possibilities for growth. But this question is a bit like asking someone how easy is Math. The initial concepts (1+1=2) are very simple and easily expand on more involved ones. But, like math, these building blocks open the doors to an ever-growing range of capability. Even to the point of crafting things that have never been done before. Inspire is far from a lightweight tool. But it is very easy to begin the journey of discovery into all that it has to offer.
I don't have a great deal of experience with Quadient Inspire Professional Services. What experiences I have had have always resulted in a viable product within the agreed timeframe. Sometimes the cost and times projected that are available to be agreed to are questionable, but that is the nature of the beast.
