It only shows the basic information about a website such as how many pages it has, how many visitors it receives, how many emails it sends, and how many ad views it has.   • Audience analysis. We need to know who our target audience is, where they hang out online, and what content they engage with the most. Similarweb's audience insights give us a comprehensive view of our audience's online behavior, helping us tailor our content and marketing efforts to reach them more effectively.

We also wanted to check on the technology specific websites are using- simialrweb team took this as custom request and was able to give use this data at scale- which helped to devise strategies and communication to the merchants as per the pain points associated with the competitors brand- mostly in account based marketing

Similarweb is our go-to solution for competition analysis, keyword research, and SEO health.

We really needed the ability to better understand, under one dashboard, trends in our industry related to search, SEO, and affiliate marketing. Having these tools at the ready, 24/7, within one dashboard, saves us time and allows us to make quicker and more meaningful decisions about ad spend, and SEO.

Not having to collate data from multiple sources, with rich filtering, and the ability customize so much of our data, makes Similarweb a true asset and partner for our business.

As an investment professional, I use Similarweb PRO in for two main purposes: (i) to conduct diligence on companies and industries we're considering investing in; (ii) to help gain insights on and solve business problems for the companies we already own. The product is very helpful for assessing industry trends in real-time (e.g., reduced web traffic across companies in an industry showing there may be top-line softness) and competitive differentiation (e.g., one company has a much lower bounce rate or much higher organic search than it's competitors). It is also helpful for quickly understanding a company's consumer demographics from an outside-in perspective without spending money to conduct a survey yet.

  • Help you form a thesis about how an industry or company may be performing by extrapolating traffic volume.
  • Quickly assess if a company is spending meaningful dollars on paid search or if there's a brand differentiation driving organic search.
  • Sometimes I find it takes time to find exactly where a certain analysis I had looked at previously is when I go to replicated. Website could be streamlined that way.
  • You can only compare 5 companies at a time on the website but often I'd like to compare more. You can always download the data to compare two different searches, but that adds time.
Overall, Similarweb PRO is a quick and easy way to gain outside-in perspectives on a company or industry without having to spend money for a survey or on industry-specific tools. It also helps when diving deeper on marketing related questions for companies where you do have inside information. The product is very helpful for understanding customer demographics, assessing industry trends in real-time (e.g., reduced web traffic across companies in an industry showing there may be top-line softness), and competitive differentiation (e.g., one company has a much lower bounce rate or much higher organic search than its competitors). It's a flexible tool and is overall very user-friendly. We've found it to be very accurate, but it ultimately is a tool I'd recommend for initial research and needs to be supported via surveys, third-party research or conversations with management, etc.

I particularly appreciate the UI - easy to explore and use, very self-explanatory, making pulling insights a quick and easy task for me.

We have many B2B clients that come daily and submit their URLs. They want to use use our e-commerce solution. We need a quick way to review the potential of the inbound leads. With Similar Web Pro, we can do it using various metrics: monthly traffic, increase / decrease of the traffic in comparison to the past, geo and many more. If we have also a list of potential outbound leads, we can review them in the same way to contact first those ones that match our priority.

It is one of the best tools for doing competitive analysis. Also helps us to find the key gaps for improving organic traffic.
The other area where we use this tool is doing SEO analysis. The optimisations are done on the basis of key website insights we get it from this tool

I've brought Similarweb into the last thre companies I've worked for. at Options Medical Weight Loss we're currently using Similarweb for competitive intelligence in order to grow our paid search campaigns and affiliate program.
  • Keyword discovery for paid and organic search
  • Referring sites to your competitors to see where they have affiliate deals
  • Digital marketing spend estimates for competitors
  • You get to see what creative your competitiors are using
  • Mobile coverage could be better. It has improved but needs to continue.
  • There are so many features, its easy to get lost in the tool.
  • Clarity on the definitions on features -- maybe more tool tips with definitions.
The tool is great for competitive intelligence. Think of it as getting access to your competitors Google Analytics account. The best use I've seen for it has been in three categories:
- Organic search: Find out what terms and content your competitors are using to get free traffic
- Paid Search: What keywords are your competitors bidding on and you're not
- Affiliate Marketing: Who's pushing traffic to your competitors nand not you

SimilarPro is one of the most used tools across our team. We use it to estimate traffic to a client's site, keyword research, search volume for certain keywords, estimated competitive comparisons, directional data, and market trends. If a client's site has tanked in performance, SimilarWeb offers a range of features that allows us to dig in and understand what competitors may be doing to capitalize on the missed traffic, if branded search demand has declined, what estimated performance looks like over time, and which queries are driving performance to the client's site.
