Overall Satisfaction with Acronis True Image
[Acronis True Image was] implemented as part of a redundant backup and recovery plan. Running this on a workstation with a local external drive and cloud, and laptop with a local external drive. Purchased because of the imaging reputation that Acronis traditionally has, and interested in their new claimed ability to help interrupt ransomware.
- Imaging
- Cloud backup is not functioning well
- User interface is clunky
- Speed in settings, loading, backups and everything else
- Image backup
- Redundancy
- Negative ROI - lots of time with tech support
- Not a "set and forget" program, continually have to check for failures
- Major resource hog
- Failed to offer the redundancy promised
IDrive is incredibly faster than Acronis on cloud backup. After Acronis' failures on cloud storage I moved to IDrive for peace of mind. IDrive can also do local backups, and either variant of system state, server, outlook, exchange, etc. It does not however have the ability to do a full image of a bitlocked machine like Acronis, so I'm continuing the local imaging with Acronis.
