Overall Satisfaction with Act-On Software

I use Act-On every day to send emails out to our client base. They make it simple to put together cohesive campaigns with forms, landing pages, and emails. We also have several marketing automation programs running so that we can focus on the day-to-day. I love the reporting for every message so you can improve your efforts.

Pros

  • Easy Interface - the WYSIWYG interface makes it extremely easy to build out marketing campaigns in a short amount of time. Just place your text and images and you've got a beautiful cohesive design.
  • Wonderful customer support - I have had very few problems with Act-On, but those I did have were resolved very fast by my customer care rep. They are very hands on with their customers and do whatever they can to help you succeed.
  • Integration - smooth integration with our Salesforce account allow us to build out elaborate campaigns with specific lead lists, and then add qualifying data back to customer accounts.

Cons

  • We send several weekly emails out to the same customer lists and it would be convenient if when we duplicated the message it would duplicate the list selection as well.
  • Better customer service and stronger relationships with our customers - being able to stay in contact with our customers and provide them with the targeted content they want has been a boon for us.
  • Better lead conversion - emailing leads with content they would find useful has increased interest in our company.
  • Increased employee efficiency - I can build out campaigns including e-mails, landing pages, and forms in a fraction of the time!
Act-On is simple to use and I think anybody could adopt and pickup the platform very quickly. WYSIWYG platforms are everywhere these days and very beginner friendly. All of Act-On's tools are created with this in mind.
I preferred the layout and performance of Act-On over Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Salesforce felt dated and not as capable or easy to use. While picking segments of lists would be easier, that's not the hardest part of the job, and Salesforce doesn't do any of the other things well. HubSpot was nice, and I'll admit it's intriguing, but we've been with Act-On for over 10 years which means we've developed a lot of assets. It would be a big lift for us to have to sort through and figure out what needs to be re-created and what we'd be losing.

Using Act-On Software

3 - For our instance we have 3 marketing users and several sales users. The marketing users are looking at reporting and building assets and emails, the sales users are looking at reporting and getting notified about leads to contact.
2 - We have 2 dedicated in-house marketers who use the platform. Both have degrees in graphic design, but that's not required to use Act-On.

  • Developing forms to gather information
  • Quick and easy landing page creation for new initiatives
  • We also use a platform that shows people that we cookie social media ads, when we add that cookie to our Act-On landing pages that expands our reach.
  • Creating more dynamic contact lists
  • Sending compliant text messages
The great customer service and capabilities of Act-On are more than enough to entice me to renew my account. I have used many e-marketing products before, both free and paid, and this is the most robust system I have found so far.

Ease of use is most important in our email marketing platform. We have to turn out a lot of content each day, and Act-On allows us to do that with a small but mighty team.
I'm happy with how my evaluation process went.

Act-On Support

I have always found Act-On support to be quick and effective. I also really like that they allow Beta testing. Any user who wants to be part of testing out new features can sign up. They also take customer feedback seriously and integrate suggestions into new features.

I don't believe we have premium support, we haven't needed it.
I was on a beta testing zoom call with an Act-On developer discussing the new email composer and going over the things I liked and didn't like, and even though it wasn't this persons job to do so they told me work arounds and how the new composer can do exactly what I wanted to do.
