Overall Satisfaction with Apigee Edge

Used by the whole third party partner organization. Our main use cases for the product are for security purposes and easy parameter changes in the middle of the request as Apigee Edge can handle this for us. It also provides a way to secure our APIs i.e. using 1-way or 2-way TLS, and OAuth among others.
  • Security - Allows us to secure our APIs. Through OAuth and TLS
  • Request & Response Handling - We can modify the response and adjust it depending on the needs of the organization that needs it without changing the backend services.
  • Load Balancing - Allows us to target different server endpoints easily and even on a per deployment environment basis.
  • Intellisense - Please add intellisense support for ease of use when coding.
  • Documentation - Elaborate more on the specifics about the functions of policies and their parameters.
  • I'm not paying for this, but our organization does.
Nothing really. This is the first time I've heard and use such technology. Its equivalent in a Spring Framework really is Netflix Zuul at best. But still Apigee Edge as a platform is still much easier to use and develop APIs from. Considering I could easily on-board developers with Apigee with our Apigee APIs, Apigee is miles ahead at least by far when compared to Spring Frameworks libraries which would have you review different documentations w/c consumes so much time getting used to, all the while things such as load balancing and securing APIs is very easy in Apigee.
Quite hard to get support, at least on the coding side, when we encounter blockers. But general concerns, they would schedule a call to you for them to get a whole picture of your concern. Albeit in my experience, bad really as they haven't replied about the progress, but otherwise seems to have been fixed.

Do you think Apigee Edge delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Apigee Edge's feature set?

Yes

Did Apigee Edge live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Apigee Edge go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Apigee Edge again?

Yes

Well suited for securing our APIs especially implementing OAuth. It also allows us to balance load across servers and at the same time would allow us to have at least one server connected to up and running in case one is down. Securing credentials for our partner companies is easy as app creation is just a few clicks away.

Using Apigee Edge

From Financial Technology to Telecommunications, it is being used.I haven't heard of other uses of it within our organization. But it's pretty much being used by our company since 2018 and is now being used more extensively at least on our partner organizations to where they also already have Apigee Engineers
Can't tell how many in the organization, but many developers are assigned into developing APIs in Apigee as we are using it on our big projects.
  • Security
  • Load Balancing
  • Easy Developer On-boarding
  • Complex Analytics data etc
I am not the one deciding whether to use apigee or not really. But personally, I would recommend the use of it as developing APIs on it is easy. And as a mediator between backend servers, we could easily modify request and responses in it without touching any backend code while having a centralize gateway to access our backend APIs too.
