Overall Satisfaction with Auvik

We are considered Critical Infrastructure and it is important we understand what is going on in our network. Auvik gives us the visibility we need in order to be proactive. It is currently used in our corporate environment but I do have a site prepared for our 150 rack data center where we plan on providing colocation services. The beauty is you do not need someone keeping an eye on Auvik 24/7 because once it is set up then detailed alerts and notifications let us know what's happening in our environment. Auvik is also great at discovering configuration issues and sends notifications so I can proactively fix issues before they arise.

Pros

  • Notifies when critical devices are offline.
  • Displays the network as a map.
  • Auvik's customer service and support are exceptional. Being a new user I have been able to get our network monitored in a short period of time with Auvik's help.
  • Detects intermittent issues that would otherwise be missed.
  • Auto discovery works really well to get you up and running quickly.
  • Monitor utilization and resources of all nodes on the network.

Cons

  • This may exist but I would like to display Auvik on the wallboard so our NOC can see what's going on in real-time.
  • I am new to Auvik and see no improvements which need to be made based on functionality.

  • Only paying for network related devices.
  • Quicker response to issues because I know exactly where to go and look.
  • More uptime
We haven't used anything in the past and it made network troubleshooting cumbersome.

Auvik seems to be a one-stop-shop for network monitoring and alerting. It is a great tool for any size environment and I like that it is cloud-based. For companies that outsource their I.T., it probably isn't a good fit but if there is at least one I.T. employee I would highly recommend using Auvik.
