Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT
I use FE NXT at two different org's. Most recently at Special Olympics Indiana - we switched from FE7 this year. That's the org I am talking about here. It's disappointing with the EXTREME increase in price that many things still need to be completed in database mode. At SOIN we use the GL, AR and AP modules and integrate RE.
Pros
- exporting reports to excel
- interface is more user friendly
Cons
- certain critical functions can't be performed in FE NXT
- can't do queries in NXT
- bank rec process is more cumbersome (can't select multiple items at once)
- can't print from NXT, have to export first.
- can't do JE reports from NXT
- exporting reports to excel
- none, like I said, it's crazy expensive and I don't think the cost justifies the minimal benefits when just talking about FE NXT
FE NXT is far superior. Quickbooks is very basic and there are minimal inherent accounting controls.
