Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT

We are currently using Financial Edge NXT as our primary cloud-based corporate accounting system.
  • Very clean, simple interface
  • Remote access is fairly reliable
  • Easy to use
  • Accounts Receivable module has yet to be released to users. As such, the solution is still somewhat incomplete.
  • Excellent accounts payable efficiency
  • Ease of remote access allows for quick reporting and/or information retrieval, anywhere
We have connected Financial Edge NXT to Blackbaud's donor database platform, Raisers Edge NXT. This way, donations coming in through the fundraising department can easily be ported over to the accounting system. From here, I can check the incoming donations, flag for further questions before I approve posting, etc, so in this sense, it does aid the internal control function.
Our organization has yet to implement and use the custom dashboard function.
Financial Edge NXT is better-suited for a midsized organization like ours. We had outgrown Sage 50 - it was becoming quite slow and unstable, so we had to find another solution. Financial Edge NXT has proven to be quicker, and much more stable and reliable from the perspective of our users.

Financial Edge NXT is well suited for most mid sized to large not for profit organizations. The easy remote cloud access has been a huge boon with increased work from home opportunities. The accounts payable, fixed asset and general ledger functions are fairly well fleshed out. The only basic function absent is accounts receivable. It has been in development for years. To be fair, accounts receivable is available, one just has to switch to the older, more-dated Citrix database view to work within it.
