Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Nexus Dashboard

The product is supposed to help us recognize anomalies/bugs/alerts that cause problems. We also want to use it for pre-change analysis regarding configuration changes in Cisco ACI. Furthermore, we intend to use Cisco Nexus Dashboard for flow analysis and to monitor VMWare Hosts. The integration with Intersight should allow easier case management.

  • Finding dropped flows
  • In my experience, it's unfortunately a waste of time.
  • Some anomalies found were actually useful, but were only found by chance.
  • A lot of false positives i.e. anomalies found that were generated because of bugs.
We have not used any other products. Before Cisco Nexus Dashboard we relied on the Cisco ACI APIC UI to see any faults.
Cisco Nexus Dashboard/NDI has not yet been able to help us.
No benefits as of yet, since the product has too many bugs. We are still hoping for improvement.

Cisco Nexus Dashboard/NDI is currently still under heavy development, and unfortunately, I feel the customers are being used as beta testers. We had Cisco Nexus Dashboard/NDI running for nearly a year now, but it does not yet help us in our daily business/tasks. Anomaly detection/handling has improved, but, in my opinion, is not yet good enough. In my experience, alert rules do not really work, even after the clean re-install recommended by Cisco.
