Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Nexus Series Switches

We use Cisco Nexus Series Switches for our data centre network to form the leaf spine topology based on VXLAN BGP EVPN fabric. It allows the Bank to build a scalable and flexible data centre fabric without a large L2 fault domain in the core.
  • Relatively stable and feature rich
  • Different form factor to meet different connectivity requirements
  • API-driven and easily integrate with Bank automation pipeline
  • In service software upgrade and / or reliable maintenance mode (GIR)
  • Less high-impact software bugs from bug scrubs
  • Longer period for so called "longlife" software version release for stability reasons
  • Reliability / Stability
  • Scalability
  • High-performance
  • Supports gradual lifecycle upgrades
  • Modular chassis supports seamless lifecycle upgrades
  • Interface adaptors cross-platform support to prolong usage of connectivity medium e.g. fibre
  • Integration with open-standard non-Cisco platforms
Cisco has a lead in maturity of its VXLAN EVPN capabilities when vendor product assessment was carried out back then.
