Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Secure Firewall
We use it for a multi tenant environment,
- We can create containers of FTDs and create HA pairs between different containers
- We use it the secure the internal and DMZ networks
- Offers NGFW features such as URL filtering, NGIPS and for the access policies we need to apply it.
- Offers visibility over events and reporting with FMC
- Support for native VXLAN
- CLI support on the FTDs
- Support for all the BGP features, there are commands that show issues with network subnets being received or advertised.
- Show BGP neighbor x.x.x.x received-routes
- This shows an issue that soft-inbound is not applied when it is applied.
- It is a good ROI given the flexibility the technology provides, whether for an INET or private cloud environment.
- Flexibility to add the licenses based on features, and add them
- Individually to the firewalls, this offers vast flexibility so we don’t have to expense money on a license model.
- The FMC supports a big number of firewalls and this is good, we don’t have to expense more money on additional controllers
Cisco offers a great troubleshooting UI this makes things easier to fix an issue, you can capture traffic from CLI as you did with ASA and through the GUI and read the captures. Easy to deploy and integrate in any architecture.
URL filtering is very rich, you can find multiple categories every week, and the NGIPS are also great features. The FLEXCONFIG is also rich, it offers vast templates for routing protocols or even BFD templates.
