Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense
We use Concur Travel and Expense company-wide. Our organization has eleven locations across eight western states. Switching to Concur has allowed us to quickly and accurately track expenses, and properly code to the correct expense accounts. By using the features of the mobile app, our end users have a much easier time meeting month-end deadlines.
Pros
- Centralized reporting in one convenient place.
- Easily integrates with the bank for expense tracking. Never forget an expense this way.
- Users can enter receipts on their phone with the Concur app. No need to keep receipts until the end of the month.
Cons
- Some of the custom reports we wanted to use did not integrate with our ERP as smoothly as we would hope.
- Customer support can be a little delayed.
- Reduced missing documentation due to ease of use in tracking receipts.
- Has contributed to allow us to shorten our closing window from five days to three.
- Easy to research GL expense details that aren't posted to the ledger.
Wells Fargo has an expense reporting feature that was really clunky to use. We had several users ask our Accounting department for a solution that would be more mobile-friendly so they could track their expenses in real time, instead of waiting for the end of the month. Concur Travel and Expense allowed our organization to give that experience to our users.
Our organization currently uses Bank of America credit cards and has integrated with Concur for expense reporting. It then has custom reports that we pull to enter all expenses into our Sage 500 accounting ERP. One improvement would be if we could have Concur interface directly with Sage to create batches automatically.
Our management team has challenged our department to move from a five day closing to a three day closing. Concur has been an integral step to achieving that goal. One thing that had been helpful for me personally is the ability to look up the detail of each expense submitted by batch. When I have a question, I can search by employee name to narrow down my search and get the detail I need.
Before Concur Travel and Expense, our users were really struggling to fill out their expense report in a timely manner. The biggest pain point was tracking receipts all month long before submitting the report at month end. With Concur, our users now can upload the receipt using their phone at the time of purchase, which has really reduced the time it takes to submit their reports at month end.
