Overall Satisfaction with Cube

Cube is extremely simple to setup and easy to learn. I've worked with many FP&A tools in the past (IMB TM1 and Biznet are examples), but Cube has been my favorite thus far. TM1 is known as the powerhouse FP&A
tool, but came with many tech headaches that required outsourcing of setup to consulting firms. Cube on the other hand was implemented in a matter of days, with no external consultants. The Cube setup team was top notch and was available to answer questions at a moments notice.

In terms of functionality, the software is extremely easy to
use and took only a few hours to understand. The website portal is very clean
and well organized. Adding new date ranges, forecast or budget scenario's are
just a click of a button which is a big upgrade compared to the complexity
these seemingly simple tasks became with other software I've used.
It works great for our month end close process, reviewing
P&L details and variance analysis. Data import is just 1 click and data
export into excel is quick and easy.
  • Easy to create monthly P&L variance analysis
  • Data import and export is smooth and efficient
  • Monthly reporting and analysis and easy to pull and update
  • Data refresh over multiple tabs could be improved
  • Speed at which data is imported can be improved
  • P&L creation
  • Variance Analysis
  • Forecast Scenario Building
  • Speed and Efficiency improved for month end close process
  • Better consolidation of data for long term trend analysis
  • Easy P&L Creation and Variance Analysis
Cube is a much simpler and easier to use platform compared to its competitors. The setup was extremely easy, and required almost no help from IT. The big standout difference was the cube support team though. They were available from start to finish when implementing the software and were there to answer any of our questions at a moments notice.

Would you buy Cube again?

Yes

Cube is well suited to a smaller business trying to move away from manual excel files and data dumps to a more streamlined FP&A tool. It can be used to improve monthly review processes and budget/forecast scenario building. The setup it quick and easy and takes very little help from IT. This is an excel based product so users should be familiar with excel in order to make full use of Cube functionality.

It would be less appropriate for larger companies who expect advanced dashboards and automatic out of the box reporting. Definitely not suitable for executive level team members who have little to no understanding of excel and expect to see graphs and charts of company data created automatically for them.
