Overall Satisfaction with DigitalPersona Altus

DigitalPersona Altus is used across our entire organization. We use DigitalPersona Altus for biometric domain authentication. We also use DigitalPersona Altus to store managed logon credentials to authenticate with all of our software and web sites. We enforce complex passwords in our environment so DigitalPersona takes the guess work out of passwords and instead authenticates with biometrics. Users need not remember their passwords for anything as they are all stored in Active Directory.
  • Biometric Authentication. This is a strength because it takes the guess work out of passwords.
  • Logon Authentication Policy. Add an extra layer of security by enforcing a Fingerprint+Pin number combination.
  • Easy to use interface. Users can easily update and manage their logons from any PC.
  • Adding new managed logon templates for new software or web sites is a snap.
  • Users can create their own managed logons.
  • Lacks support for Firefox browser.
  • Lack of useful documentation provided to admins.
  • Technical support isn't very knowledgeable. There have been instances where I knew more about the product than the person I was dealing with.
  • It has changed the way users authenticate in a big and positive way. Users would be lost without it at our organization.
  • DigitalPersona Altus has reduced user frustration dramatically. The ability to authenticate with a fingerprint is a snap.
  • DigitalPersona Altus has relieved our IT Department considerably. Our department spends much less time resetting passwords for users.
Personally I have limited experience with alternative products. We choose DigitalPersona Altus because it is feature rich, relatively low cost and simple to incorporate. The integration with Active Directory is very robust and management is easy. Training end users on DigitalPersona Altus is simple. Overall the system is very low maintenance and experiences little to no downtime.

We use DigitalPersona Altus to protect all user domain authentication. We use DigitalPersona Altus to protect our Financial Services Platform and CRM by D&H.

We also use DigitalPersona Altus for all of the following applications and websites:

-Cash Suite

-Outlook Web App

-Gmail

-Decision Lender

-Cubus

-E3

-Servicing Director

-Docusign

-Sage HRMS

-Sage ESS

-KnowBe4.com

-Technology Navigator

-Touché'

-Windows RDP

-Solarwinds

-NADA

-TAO forms

-LaserPro

-KeePass

- XactTime

I think DigitalPersona Altus is well suited for every organization and every scenario that involves logon credentials. If users have complex passwords or many of them it will be especially useful. If you would like to incorporate a strict logon policy that consists of a fingerprint plus pin or password plus pin it is a great solution.
