Overall Satisfaction with Edgar

The marketing strategy of our shop leans heavily on Facebook for both organic and paid marketing. But as you might be aware, the organic reach for Facebook now is around 5% or less of your total fans, which means our best content might not have been seen by some (if not most) of our fans. To solve this, we used to manually re-post popular posts via Buffer, but it is a somewhat time-consuming task and not the most ideal solution.

Then came Edgar, a service that specializes in evergreen content sharing. Edgar even enables us to further categorize our evergreen content and set up a schedule for distribution according to the nature of the content. As far as we could tell, there aren't that many services on the market quite like it.
  • Keep a library of your favourite/most popular content. Assign them categories and give them different time slots throughout the week. For example, we didn't want to bombard our fans with sales and promotions, so we keep that to a minimum while having the majority of our recurring posts to be helpful and non-sales-y content.
  • You also have the ability to assign time slots for random content. If you have contents that you wish to exclude from this all-random slot, it can be adjusted on a category level.
  • RSS feed integration. Automatically review and add content from your RSS feed onto your Edgar queue.
  • Inability to use multiple photos for a single Facebook post.
  • Photo resolution will be shrink down to mobile friendly resolutions. This might be enough for most users/organizations, though.

  • It is important to keep a content presence in social media especially at a time where organic reach is low both in percentage and quantity. Edgar makes sure that we do and drive a lot more traffic versus our previous social media content sharing model.
In terms of evergreen content promotion, Buffer and AgoraPulse offer very basic functionalities in this regard. We were looking for something that would enable us to categorize our evergreen content and Edgar is the only product on the market then that does this. We no longer need to manually re-post anything and only need to focus on content-creation.

It is worth noting that we are still using Buffer in conjunction with MeetEdgar, where the former takes care of our new content while the latter will continually share the best content of the bunch.
  • Edgar works best if you already have enough (or plan on keep adding more) evergreen content to avoid too much repetition. This will of course be dependent on the frequency of your schedule as well as how refined your categories are.
  • Edgar works for Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn currently, and it doesn't seem like they will be adding more networks in the near future.
