Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Ellucian Banner for registration, admissions, student information, and basically everything. It communicates information to our degree audit system, articulations, and registration systems. I mostly use it to do registration overrides and assign academic advisors to students. I don't use it to hire or for financial services but I am sure our university does.

Ellucian Banner is well suited for assigned academic advisors and registration overrides. It has a good search capacity if you are looking for a specific screen to complete a task, as you can search it with key words.

It seems less appropriate for when you want to assign an office as an academic advisor because of some back-end functionality.
