Overall Satisfaction with EndNote

We use EndNote as our primary citation manager for the writing of research papers, grants, and proposals. EndNote compiles all references into a single library and works with the EndNote word plugin to cite papers, books, etc. while writing and compiles into a bibliography in your selected style.
  • organizes citations
  • combines citations across documents
  • serves as a reading platform
  • The reading pdf feature could be improved
  • removing duplicates can be tricky
  • journal abbreviations are difficult to manage and usually require manual input
  • merging document libraries
  • copy and paste citations feature
  • organization of references
  • Many publications have been published with the help of EndNote
  • Great training for using citation managers
I enjoy reading on the Mendeley interface more than EndNote but EndNote is superior for exporting references and the EndNote word plugin works much better. EndNote is also easier to use as a citation manager with multiple people or documents.
