Use Cases and Deployment Scope

HipChat solved the problem of unifying our entire staff in one chat platform. It solved the problem across the organization of having several chat programs installed and the distractions that made on staff as well as managing it from an IT perspective.

HipChat is a nice communication tool which enables you to stay in contact with all of your team members. It is easy to use and is built very intuitively. Ease of implementation. Great native apps. Lots of integrations. Simple Reset API.

It is well suited for all organizations.

We appreciate all the feedback you have provided. I noticed that you listed "no search" and "no cloud storage" as cons of the product. Just wanted to let you know that we do have searchable message history across our apps! You can search within specific rooms or 1:1 chats. In terms of cloud storage you are able to store 5KB of files with the HipChat Basic (free) plan and unlimited files with HipChat Plus ($2/user/month). We also integrate with various document storage like Dropbox (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.topdox.dropbox/cloud/overview) and Google Drive (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.hipchat.googledrive/cloud/overview).
