Overall Satisfaction with IBM Instana

We are using IBM Instana for monitoring stat of Kubernetes Cluster and VMs. Initially, whenever there was issue, we had to look for metric and log manually which was very hectic and it was not consolidated and it used to become very tough of tracking all apps in single place but with use of IBM Instana, it has become very easy for us. we can get all API calls details, errror rate, number of pods , event chnage,alerts all from single tool.

IT is able to monitor legacy VM along with new tech stack seemlessly
New Relic has it's own perks but when it comes to large infrastructure, we always face some issue at stability but IBM Instana never fails here. In my opinion, Inbuilt dashboard and inbuilt alerting feature what makes IBM Instana better than compared to other tools. I think mobile apps monitoring etc are very very cool feature of IBM Instana.

As per our use case, it can be used widely across multiple solutions like K8s,VMs, Big data monitoring. In my opinion, UI also very simple to understand and makes it very easy to implement and customise. App monitoring like AWS RDS or S3 bucket also add some extra advantage.support with 3rd party alerting tools also make it worthy than other tools.

Using IBM Instana

1000 - We are part of Adidas techhub global marker so we are using instana at global organisation level across On-prem datacenter and cloud resources.They all belong to different tech segment big data, data engineering, manufacturing, designing , planning etc.These all products are connected all-together and create backbone of global brand. Instana is helping us alltogether to monitor and manage it
5 - for our project, We have 5 people. as we are using SaaS Version, it is managed by IBM itslef but for our application setup, we have all the support we need. We setup our agent on VM and cluster by ourself and it is easy to setup so we don't need specific knowledge for that.

Instana has been able to fulfill our all requirement and provide out of box solution for multiple component like AWS RDS Monitoring and real time alerting setup on basis of that. it is also easy to integrate with other open-source alerting and monitoring tools which makes it easier to incorporate into our solutions

Ease of use - we wanted solution which is easy to use and don't have to waste time in finding tabs or graphs for our infrastructure and IBM fits it well. Only UI part is little bit not eye catchy but it do our work so we have chosed IBM instana.
as we have multi open source tool in market so will try to identify solution which can use their functionality and Inetgration with AI technology so that we can do procative monitoring of our infrastructure for client facing applications. UI will be also be one point so that end user also can use it seemlessly

IBM Instana Support

IBM instana support team is good but when we ask them for support, they keep asking same thing again and again and mostly there is no solution.

Yes we have premium support for the tool as it is SaaS and whenver we are stuck with any problem , we need their help to help us succeed.
