Overall Satisfaction with Insightly

Our organization uses Insightly to manage our contacts and to keep track of our correspondence with potential investors. Unlike private excel sheets, Insightly gives every member of our team access to past correspondence between our employees and our investors, as well as notes concerning contacts and organizations. Looking through those emails and notes allows us to more efficiently reach out to investors by giving insights into that investor or company. These insights range from what stage a given VC generally looks to invest in a company to the way an investor's name is properly pronounced. Having all correspondence laid out on Insightly also ensures that no two employees reach out to the same investor.
  • By linking organizations, contacts, and emails with opportunities, Insightly saves users a ton of time searching for contact information, company information, or your past correspondence.
  • Insightly is highly customizable for various different kinds of businesses. Its features can be changed to mirror practically any kind of preexisting organizational system.
  • Insightly's search function allows users to quickly look up contact information, sent emails, and other information.
  • Once you create an account, which requires using your email as a login, you cannot switch your primary email (as far as I can tell). As a result, to link emails to Insightly, you need to manually copy and paste an address in the CC section every time you send an email.
  • Insightly automatically links your associated social media sites to your account. If you sign up with your gmail address, for example, anything linked to your chrome account will show up on your Insightly account. This is great if you want to get your name out there on Twitter or other sites, but can also result in users unintentionally showing personal accounts to coworkers and clients.
  • Insightly leads to better customer service by allowing employees with no prior experience with a contact to build off the relationships developed by their coworkers. By looking at past correspondence or notes made by coworkers, one can glean more information about a contact than might be available on their website or LinkedIn profile.
  • Insightly leads to increased employee efficiency by linking sent emails, contact information, and organization information. Those links minimize the time it takes searching for contact information online, searching for old emails, or looking up company profiles.
  • Insightly's pipeline visualization increases employee efficiency by allowing users to quickly sort through their opportunities and check the progress others have made on given projects.
Insightly is well suited for businesses that need a forum for employees to share their work and to access common information. If only one employee drafts reports and then emails them to the rest of the company, then Insightly might not be necessary. However, if a team of workers consistently collaborate on reports, then Insightly is far superior to email.

Insightly is also well suited for companies that make sales or frequently reach out to new clients. Insightly allows each employee to record their progress, allowing all future employees to continue on from where others have left off.
