Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use KnowBe4 Compliance Plus for all of our compliance training in the org (harassment, CCPA, etc). We have those assigned quarterly or annually based on the compliance requirements.

We were able to replace other compliance trainings and consolidate all training, including security training into the KnowBe4 Compliance Plus platform. This resulted in a reduction in complexity for administration and also one central platform for end-users to keep the training consistent.

Legislative Requirements

We've used KnowBe4 Compliance Plus for PII, PHI, CCPA, and state mandated harassment training for managers and non-managers. We've been able to improve the training process and also remain compliant to data requirements.

Value of Centralized Services

Being able to consolidate security and compliance training into one platform was helpful to improve overall adoption because end-users only had to navigate to one platform. The built in automation for notifications also helped with adoption. It also helped with the administration process because the old compliance system we used was a bit more dated and difficult to use. KnowBe4 Compliance Plus was easy to administer and also easy for the end-users to use.

Training Contents

KnowBe4 Compliance Plus training content is just ok. It is still a fairly new product and it shows in the depth and breath of content. It has 'training' in a lot of the regulatory and compliance modules, but a lot of it is in the form of posters or physical pamphlets which is not helpful for us in a mostly remote environment. The trainings cover the basics of most modules, but and does check the box for our needs.

Alternatives Considered

Ethena and Litmos

Cost was the main barrier to entry for the other products we evaluated. KnowBe4 Compliance Plus was priced more competitively by a significant amount. Also, other platforms didn't offer the same breath of compliance training compared to KnowBe4 Compliance Plus. Ultimately we chose KnowBe4 Compliance Plus for the value and also the amount of compliance modules they support despite not being the most polished.

I think KnowBe4 Compliance Plus is best suited for smaller to mid-size organizations with simple regulatory or compliance requirements. The main issue is the lack of depth in some of the training which could pose an issue for larger orgs. It does a great job for general content, but some of the content is too short to make a difference.

It also does a good job of presenting the material in engaging or interesting ways, but depending on the company, might not be everyone's cup of tea.
