Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

It's much easier to onboard than other diagram solutions.
We use it for building architectural diagrams for how software components interact with one another. We use it either for a substitute for whiteboarding while working remotely or to produce diagrams that can be saved in software documentation. It's useful during the design or maintenance phases of software projects. Lucidchart is not the only tool used for this, so it can be based on personal preference.
  • Architecture diagrams for software systems
  • Activity or use case diagrams for how a user will interact with a system
  • Laying out how product documentation should be organized
  • I think there are better solutions for collaborative editing of a design (multiple people working on the same diagram at once).
  • I would like more shapes that depict common elements on a website such as forums, lists, text boxes, etc. so I can do mockups.
  • Lucidchart allows me to produce readable diagrams much faster than alternatives, but there are so many free alternatives available that I don't think the ROI is high enough to justify it costing very much money.
I do not take full advantage of these integrations and mostly export images or share my screen to integrate it elsewhere.
I have not interacted with support for Lucidchart.

Do you think Lucidchart delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Did Lucidchart live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Lucidchart go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Lucidchart again?

Lucidchart is a little easier to use than google draw.
  • Good for architecture diagrams
  • Good for producing diagrams that live in documentation
  • Not great for collaborative editing
  • Not sure if I would trust Lucidchart for highly confidential data
