Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Defender XDR

We use the product to secure our endpoints, and by using the XDR suite, we're also securing our email and securing our cloud environment and identity as well. So all the different defender agents wrapped up into XDR.
  • The product does well at identifying security events by alerting our teams of them in our environment. I think that's probably a great main thing.
  • I think I wish the interface was a little bit faster. I think that would definitely be an area of improvement. Faster interface.
  • I think it's had a positive return just because of the amount of stuff, amount of bad things that it blocks. So in general it's positive and it just could be better.
I think some challenges were visibility to our Microsoft environment.
It's made it easier for our team to identify security issues, but not necessarily to remediate those issues all the time.
Yes. So that is in place where we are familiar with it and it has been helpful for certain alerts.
Yes, it's easy to configure.
Well, we're actually evaluating the other products now. We had selected Defender XDR because at the time we just got a good deal on it.

I think the product is well suited for organizations who don't have a lot of security people and perhaps where the mandate for security isn't, it's critical, but maybe things like availability might be more important than the confidentiality or integrity of their data. So I think an organization using Defender XDR would probably have a slightly higher risk tolerance.
