Overall Satisfaction with MxToolBox

MXToolBox is an invaluable tool for my position as Network Administrator. I use this service at least weekly to verify valid Domains when we are having problems with email delivery to a specific destination. I also use the service often to check current blacklists and see if a company or domain has been found there. I test email health with a service provided here to help me determine what is happening with failed deliveries.
  • Verify Email Flow.
  • View current blacklists.
  • Test DMARC.
  • More robust information on test results.
  • A bit clearer instruction for someone new to the interface.
  • Email flow testing, during upgrades.
  • Determining blacklisted domains.
  • Analyzing headers in email.
  • This provides a clear view to Email Health.
  • Easy to use most of the diagnostics.
  • Quick access to view current blacklists.
MXToolBox is easier to use probably because I am more familiar with it. I have used DNSStuff several times to compare results, which usually are very similar. The main drawback for DNSStuff is that each tool is a download rather than browser-based, and I would just prefer that whatever I am using is as up-to-date as possible. I would tend to uninstall the DNSStuff tools right after using them.

Do you think MxToolBox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with MxToolBox's feature set?

Yes

Did MxToolBox live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of MxToolBox go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy MxToolBox again?

Yes

We had a scenario where one company could not send us an email, our spam filter was unable to resolve and therefore deemed it greylisted. With MXToolBox I was able to determine their DMARC was not set up correctly with their provider causing this and helped them see the reason for failure with a short report from MXToolBox, giving them some guidance as to how to resolve it themselves.
