Oracle Taleo

Overall Satisfaction with Oracle HCM Cloud (including Taleo)

My entire organisation uses Oracle HCM Cloud (including Taleo) for our HR, recruitment, procurement, benefits, expenses, time cards, etc.

We use many modules from Oracle HCM Cloud and it helps us run our business smoother because everything is integrated and easy to find, and most importantly it's all self-service which has reduced the amount of work that HR, recruitment, the accounting department, and management have to do for things to run smoothly day to day.
  • Taleo makes it much easier for our recruitment team to find great candidates.
  • Taleo helps us identify current employees who would be great in different positions (and want to make a move) and so we are able to retain more talent, which is very important to us.
  • Oracle HCM Cloud has allowed us to have all the day-to-day tasks for expenses, payroll, HR, recruitment, benefits, medical leave, vacations, talent reviews, etc. all in one place.
  • Everything is self service which allows many of our operational departments to concentrate on more important tasks than just keeping up with the day-to-day.
  • The UI isn't always great, it could be improved.
  • Sometimes it is difficult to find specific things that you are looking for.
  • The procurement store often does not show relevant search results.
  • In Taleo it is not possible to view a job description and then go back to the results, you have to save the job to the job cart and then go into your account to view it. This is really annoying and I am sure it turns some of the potential candidates off.
  • Taleo has really helped us develop our internal opportunities for our employees.
  • We have begun to greatly utilise the talent review portion of Oracle HCM Cloud to identify top talent and monitor how our employees are developing.
  • We recently began offering a new benefit to our employees in a certain country, and within a few days we had almost 100% of the employees briefed and enrolled in the new plan because they were able to log in and do everything themselves. Before, this used to be a nightmare for us and would require HR chasing people down for weeks.
We chose Oracle HCM Cloud mainly because of its capabilities. It offered more than Workday HCM and Kronos HCM, and after evaluating how it would work with our existing programs in the various departments that would benefit from the new program, we realised that it was also easier to integrate, maintain, and make changes to.
Oracle HCM Cloud is perfectly suited for large corporations, especially global ones such as ours, because it allows you to combine numerous modules, integrate them with necessary programs that are department specific, and it is all self-service. This helps us run our operations much smoother and with much less effort. We are also able to set country specific modules (such as the procurement portion, benefits, etc.) which is a huge help to us because then we only need one global department to oversee things such as payroll or expenses.

Given its complexity and potential, I would think that if you have a very small company this might not be the solution for you. Too complicated and large to justify the cost unless you are a mid to large sized company.
