Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop for Mac

QuickBooks Desktop runs our business, it tracks everything, serves recurring invoices and tracks payments. We also use QuickBooks Desktop to track sales, commissions and manage accounts receivables. I use QuickBooks Desktop on a day to day basis to track everything going on across all accounts from sales to expenses to the financial status of our accounts.

Pros

  • Manages accounts.
  • Snapshot of the current status of accounts.
  • Recurring templates/invoices and charges.
  • Ability to view reports with 1 click.

Cons

  • Sometimes it can be slow to load.
  • More shortcuts or the ability to create my own shortcuts would be nice.
  • Bigger fonts by default, my eyes are getting old!
  • QB helps us manage over 1000 client accounts effectively.
  • ROI has improved, we know which clients are "slow pay" or "no pay".
  • The ability to have recurring charges run automatically helps keep cashflow on target.
Start with the best and you never have to try anything else. Not the cheapest solution, but the best solution is always a smart business decision. We could not run the business today without QuickBooks - maybe 10 years ago at the startup, it was more than we needed, but within a year we could not function without it! In order to grow a recurring revenue model, you have to have the right platform to manage billing, payments, and receivables.
There is no better solution on the market when it comes to running a business. You have to track your sales, receivables, and P&L on a daily basis to make sure you are on track for your target profit levels. Also, QB is a great way to see the value of sales reps by the revenue they bring in.
