Star Assessments Review
Overall Satisfaction with Renaissance Star Assessments
Renaissance Star Assessments are used across our county in schools K-8. We use Star Assessments to measure and track the growth of our students in math and reading. Students are expected to take it at least every nine weeks, sometimes twice a nine weeks to allow for more data points to track struggling students.
Pros
- Ease of testing students
- Lots of reports available for teachers
Cons
- Increased time limit on math assessments
- Ease of navigation on teacher dashboard
- We are able to track students growth as the year goes on.
- Ease of testing makes it easier to incorporate into lesson plans.
Star has been the only testing and progress monitoring program I have used in my career. I have used other programs that were more fun like Prodigy or IXL Math, but nothing that compares to Renaissance's Star Assessments. Everything is all in one, which makes the use of Star Assessments and other products easier to use.
