Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is being used to store harmonized data from multiple sources so that reporting performance is better.

Pros and Cons

Performance: a huge amount of data was churned in no time.
Modeling was better.
Merging data from multiple sources was easy through joins.

Usability for the developer.
More graphical data would be helpful.
Options to build semantics.

Return on Investment

Fear of the unknown is reduced.
Licensing costs.

I was not part of the evaluation. We were given HANA to implement the project.

Support Rating

The folks at SAP were responsive when we raised OSS notes while implementing, and were also helpful. Having SAP consulting team on the project also helped.

Where performance is a requirement, HANA is the way to go. Also when large amounts of data is involved, HANA is able to churn it faster.
In some cases, where we have to join data from multiple sources, it was lot easier with the available functionalities and join conditions. It is not for users who are not tech savvy, having a graphical usage will be lot helpful.
