Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA

I use SAP Hana to create views to pull data for the business for different reports or dashboards.
  • Ease of use. I learned how to use HANA in a little under a year.
  • It's able to construct large data sets. I've built views that load tables or 34, 79, and 151 million rows.
  • Promoting from our Dev environment to QA/Prod is cumbersome.
  • There have been many pauses while Hana processes or hangs while developing. Could be an environment issue.
  • Sometimes HANA works in a different way than I would expect. A select count of a table brings back different results than a count of a subquery.
  • SQL scripting is hard, since SAP Hana SQL has limited or fewer SQL commands than other development tools.
  • It allows us to create reports that bring value to our company. The reports allow our execs to make solid decisions from the data.
Informatica is similar, to me, and it seems to be able to handle larger loads of data. MSSQL SSRS and SSIS are easier tools for me to use, but I started using those tools longer ago, compared to only a year for Hana.
I haven't had to use support, but our Admins have. Sometimes there can be slower results on issue resolving. When I google for information I have a hard time finding what I need, but again, that could be due to my limited use of Hana so far.

Do you think SAP HANA Cloud delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with SAP HANA Cloud's feature set?

Yes

Did SAP HANA Cloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of SAP HANA Cloud go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy SAP HANA Cloud again?

Yes

Quick data views to load tables or combine data sets. Large and detailed views become very difficult to read through due to overlap-ing nodes
