Overall Satisfaction with SAP Integrated Business Planning
We use it to ensure synchronization of Op, Strat and Financial Plans. For our OP plans we (are trying) using it for true top-down, bottom-up planning.
- Collaboration across enterprise
- Ease of use
- Intuitive UI
- Better scalability!
- Better integration with Office365
- Mobile capabilities improved (sizing, etc.)
- Better forecast accuracy
- Creates a more collaborative org across functions (s/w facilitates that well!)
- Nice interface for presenting data/analyses—reduces time to analyze, reduces concerns about “where is that data coming from…” issues with our old system.
- Cloud Solutions
- Scalability
- Integration with Other Systems
- Ease of Use
We needed a modern planning platform vs. the ‘system’ that relied on Excel at the center. IBP provides a ‘smaller footprint’ with its cloud foundation and allows usage away from the office much more readily. The ability to build models centric to each function and/or business process creates the integrated plans we sorely needed. Also creates common dialog and understanding across the enterprise around operating decisions, etc.
They are entirely different solutions so ‘stacking them up’ doesn’t make sense. I raise this solution because PaPM is a highly-scalable analytics engine. If SAP sold IBP with PaPM it would eliminate the issues we have with scalability as we develop our top-down, bottom-up planning structure. Yes, it would raise the price, but given the focus on analytics to improve decision making, it seems a necessity for a company combining analytics and planning.
