Overall Satisfaction with Scalefusion

We use Scalefusion to manage mobile phones, track our teams, send broadcast messages, we have 70 licenses and use mostly android devices, with a few iPhones. We use location to redirect teams to assist others
  • group messaging works well
  • cannot be uninstalled
  • you can tell who's phone is off
  • battery life of phones is dramatically affected if location is used
  • location tracking of phones
  • Location tracking is useful as well as being a legal aid in case of a legal suit

Do you think Scalefusion delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Scalefusion's feature set?

No

Did Scalefusion live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Scalefusion go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Scalefusion again?

No

There a few things I wish I knew before committing to this software.
1. If you plan to track locations of devices then it drains battery life of phones quickly, I had to reduce the location ping to every 15 minutes to mitigate the poor battery performance.
2. The built in mapping on the Scalefusion site is not very useful, you can only map one device at a time. I had to write an app to map all the devices onto one map. I offered to sell them my map, they did not reply and have since copied it, so now they have group mapping but it is not as good as mine. (no satellite view options and does not use google maps)

Using Scalefusion

70 - The software is installed on approximately 70 devices, the users do not have to do anything as it runs in the background. However there are some messages that the operating system will show that annoy users.
The administration software is only used by 1 person.
1 - You need to be familiar with phone operating systems, and in general using software, there are no special skills, but experience with badly designed user interfaces is advantageous because the Scalefusion interface is not amazing.
  • location tracking
  • pusing messages and software
  • knowing the location of people has helped in odd ways
We need this type of software, Scalefusion although clunky, it does function. And their prices are good compared to the competition. Note I have not tried the competitions software, just looked at their prices.

Configuring Scalefusion

The feature list is huge for this software. So the configuration can be daunting. However their support team helps during setup.
Location for phones needs to be configured to only update every 15 minutes or else it will kill the battery.
Their support seems to think that is not a problem, but if I had known that before purchasing I would not have purchased.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
Yes - we have added extensive custom code

Scalefusion Support

The support is quite good, usually you can get a response answer within an hour, however many issues take quite a while to resolve.
ProsCons
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Kept well informed
No escalation required
Immediate help available
Support cares about my success
Quick Initial Response
Slow Resolution
Need to explain problems multiple times
no, it is included
Yes - They don't consider draining the battery too quickly a bug
I am impressed that initial contact for any support question is quickly acknowledged.

Using Scalefusion

Installation is easy.
There is a steep learning curve of what the software can and cannot do.
It is also quite comprehensive, so the is much to absorb.
The user interface is not intuitive, many setting are buried very deep.
ProsCons
Like to use
Unnecessarily complex
Difficult to use
Not well integrated
Inconsistent
Slow to learn
Cumbersome
Lots to learn
  • enrolling a device is easy
  • listing devices
  • group messaging
  • setting up a profile
  • tuning the location feature to use less battery life
