Overall Satisfaction with Skype for Business (formerly Lync), now part of Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Skype for Business has solved instant messaging and video conferencing challenges, specifically throughout the pandemic. The majority of our meetings are conducted with Skype for Business. There are different features you can benefit from including the ability to present your desktop or PowerPoint slides, as well as using a whiteboard for drawings.
Pros
- Video conferencing
- Instant messaging
- Desktop presentation
- Integration with Exchange server
Cons
- From my experience, the offline instant messaging is not good
- Client applications on mobile devices suffer performance issues
- There are problems when the number of people in a single session goes over 300
- Improved agility
- Lowered the cost
- Requires no IP phones
