Overall Satisfaction with SOLIDWORKS
- 3D layouts of systems.
- Verify equipment fits in the environment, access to other equipment, ergonomics of the system, etc.
[It's] Used by the engineering department. We do not use the majority of the software's features at this company. When I was with another company, we used it to its full potential. This company does not need some of the features it has. Still the best software for the company.

- Easy and quick to sketch simple designs
- Very powerful software for FEA and CFD
- Basically universal software used by our customers as well.

SOLIDWORKS is by far the best 3D software I have used. Catia is powerful but extremely clunkly. Simple one button tasks in SOLIDWORKS can take half a day with Catia. Unigraphics was a good 3D software but not used as much in the industry. ProE is terrible in many ways - not user-friendly, very time consuming to do simple tasks.
