Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is being used across the organization. It helps us visualize business trends in a nicely presented format which can be easily used by all levels of management. Currently we use it for our sales projections, marketing analytics, finance analytics and other business analytics. It is also used to analyze monthly results across different KPI's

Alternatives Considered

Tableau server has among the best visualization compared to other similar products. It is in some cases much easier to use when the data is nicely arranged in the required format. It also has a good drill down capability which helps us expand and look for variances and other information.

Usability

There are some limitations to the overall good functionality of Tableau. Here are some of them:
-Cumbersome formula Entry
-Limited line graph functionality and options
-The color options are not clearly defined
-The functionality in some areas could be much better.
-It is sometimes difficult to find certain fields when they are required to be updated.

Support Rating

I have not used the support function of tableau a lot as I am not the administrator. Our data platforms team takes care of any internal requests for issues within tableau. Our organization as a whole uses tableau for creating different visualizations for management views and there have been no issues which have caused issues with the server

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited where data is clearly arranged in a particular format and is less useful if the data is not in the format usable by tableau
The formulas are sometimes difficult to enter into tableau and that restricts some analysis to be performed.
Visualization within tableau is the best but the trend line graphs are not great
