Overall Satisfaction with The Raisers Edge

It is being used across the entire organization, it is our primary CRM. This is where we store our sponsors, donors, volunteers, prospects and other relationships and all their account information.
  • Has some great canned reports that non-technical employees can easily create to get the information that they need.
  • Can update the tables to include the sections that work best for your organization.
  • Has a layout that makes it easy to find information in a constituent record.
  • Security groups, it would be nice to be more granular in Queries, reports and exports on who can create them, and modify them. We would like to block out staff from creating them, as they are eliminating or including data they shouldn't in their queries and using this to make decisions. We still want them to be able to run queries and unfortunately we either give them access or no access.
  • Importing is limited in that you can't import all the information you want on a record at a time, you have to do it in multiple imports, or purchase the import-o-matic tool which is very expensive and time consuming to implement.
  • Each module is an additional cost, so to get the system you really want, can get to be very expensive, very quickly.
  • There are features that only work in the USA and not in Canada. Features that we would love to have but cant, eg. automatically updating credit cards.
  • Their duplication tool is not sufficient, it only matches on a couple of characters, not nearly enough for names. The system should not tell me to merge John and Johanna together. If users don't investigate this thoroughly before doing the global merge, they will have serious data issues.
  • It's been positive, as we can store the information that we need.
There aren't too many products out there to meet our needs, but we are starting to look to see if we can reduce some costs.
A big factor is the budget that the organization has to purchase the system and then pay yearly maintenance fees.
If you don't have someone that can be an administrator to the system, then you will end up with lots of data issues.
