Cisco continues to bake in ThousandEyes!
Overall Satisfaction with ThousandEyes
My team and I leverage ThousandEyes for its Network Monitoring capabilities. We rely on the ease of use, ability to lower mean time to resolution, and meantime to innocents. The product addresses ISP monitoring which we rely heavily upon as an organization with a global footprint. ThousandEyes helps our team to achieve the "First to Know" initiative that every infrastructure strives for and benefits from.
Pros
- Cloud Service Monitoring.
- DEM - Digital Experience Monitoring.
- Automated Session Testing.
- Simple API/Webhook Integration with ServiceNow and MS Teams.
Cons
- It is a bit pricey compared to other solutions.
- Hoping that Cisco will offer an enterprise agent that is applied to Access Points.
- Running an endpoint agent on a NUK or RaspberryPie leaves something to be desired for a Cisco to release a small form factor endpoint.
- First to Know.
- Meantime to Resolution.
- Meantime to Innocents.
- SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA) and SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (npm)
Simple Network Management Protocol cannot achieve what an agent-based monitoring solution can. Access layer testing gives you visibility into the user's endpoint. ThousandEyes is able to provide both telemetry and user experience in a bundled solution. The way that Cisco has built in the enterprise agents to their 9300 and 9500 switches has made exposure to the platform widespread.
