Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Cloud Integration (including BusinessWorks and Scribe)
We are using Scribe for data migration and for integrating heterogeneous systems to CRM environments. We also perform pre-processing tasks in Scribe particularly for data cleanup and populating staging tables, as well as use the connector to issue API calls, which in turn trigger the execution of workflow logic on CRMs.
Pros
- Ease of learning, the system is very intuitive.
- Metadata visibility, very useful when working with online targets.
- Ability to trigger logic on target systems via API calls.
Cons
- Scribe Online is currently very slow.
- Scribe Online tends to hang after a few continuous executions and the local agents need to be restarted often.
- Scribe Online has less built-in functions than Scribe Insight.
- Scribe helps with forecasting as it makes data process performance predictable.
- Scribe license pricing is considered high and it affects pricing estimates for clients.
- Scribe is quickly learned by staff so there is less time spent on training.
Because Talend is open-source software, we the ability from TIBCO to support its products to be the deciding factor for employing it in our production environments.
- Self-taught
The Scribe Insight product is very well designed in that it can be picked up fairly quickly, and organized in a way that helps finding functionality and features in a short amount of time. I have no doubt that the online and in-person training options speed up the learning process, but it is possible to use it efficiently with self-training.
