TIBCO Cloud Spotfire
Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Spotfire
Spotfire is used in all departments within my company. The ultimate goal is to utilize the power of the analysis of Spotfire -- as the current software utilized cannot handle the vast data sets that are continually utilized. As well, the ability to add different techniques in the analysis has assisted in making this software indispensable for the analyst we have here. The biggest problems are the vast data sets (10,000+ rows with an excess of 52 columns regularly.
Pros
- Importing data, recognizing the headers, and sorting the data efficiently.
- Allowing multiple data sets to be layered and analyzed at the same instance
- Showcasing examples of analysis that may have been left out, as well as the addition of new modules (AI) that help with future analysis.
Cons
- When applying formulas I would like a little easier build of the formulas
- I might be missing this key feature, but adjusting the display color choices, maybe allowing company colors to be imported in.
- Setting up models needs a little bit easier application.
Spotfire -- I have wholly switched over to Spotfire from Excel, because the program does not/ has not frozen, or slowed down to a point (for me at least) where I have had to trim data sets back and combine to see if there are... matches, results, something meaningful, which was basically doubling the amount of work needed to be done for 1 result. This was my hold up with Excel. I can't say much against MS BI as I was pointed to go past it towards Sportfire, though I have had access to it and was not fully impressed.
- Quicker data analysis vs old way
- Need a Windows based computer to run the software - and I am a MAC/Apple guy requiring me to get a windows computer for one software app.
- Self-taught
Have not had additional online trading yet, but it is scheduled in the near future
