Overall Satisfaction

  • Once you get familiar with the product, payroll processing runs pretty smoothly.
  • You can create new screens that display data from custom tables that you create.
  • It is fairly easy to look back at historical data that is stored on the Ultipro system.
  • Different modules do not "talk" to each other. We have to run some reports out of core HR, then run others out of the recruiting module to get the data from both modules. You cannot join the two modules. I am sure that other modules behave the same way.
  • It takes multiple steps to handle transfers in core HR. Some data has to be stopped in one company and started in another if the employee transfers companies within the HR system.
  • Support suffers due to the fact that the software company that developed Ultipro has grown more rapidly than they are able to support.
  • We are able to run payroll and maintain employee personal, work, and payroll data fairly easily. Some of the maintenance can be done through employee self service, where other work can be done by the manager and/or payroll department.
  • Workflow helps to keep everyone concerned in the loop as to what has transpired.
  • IBM Cognos Report Studio integrates well with Ultipro for our reporting needs.
We have used Ultipro as a company for 10 years. It serves our purposes, and the cost of conversion to another HR Software would be cost prohibitive.
Make sure you know what you want your system to do, and ask lots of specific questions before selecting HR software. Ask for examples of where the company has performed the tasks that you need. There are a lot of good software companies out there. Ultipro is not bad, it's just not perfect. I have used some other software that was really good, but I have really not seen one that is perfect.
