Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

Using Veeam to backup our Microsoft Hyper-V environment of one host with 9 VMs. Had previously used it at another outfit to backup a much larger VMware environment with great success. Veeam is incredibly simple to set up and use.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
  • Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
  • Scheduling of regular backups.
  • Recovery from said backups.
  • The ease of use from installing to setting up the first backup to recovery. It is intuitive.
  • The support from Veeam is amazing. Among the top 3 I have ever dealt with in 20 years of doing IT.
  • I am not an advanced Veeam user. For what I use it for it, is an exceptional product, that has a 100% effective support mechanism behind it if you ever need it (which has been rare).

Do you think Veeam Data Platform delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Veeam Data Platform's feature set?

Yes

Did Veeam Data Platform live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Veeam Data Platform go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?

Yes

I only have one server at this job that is protected. At my previous work we were backing up 50+ VMs and it was simple and easy.
  • The ability to recover data without hassles/issues is amazing.
  • I spend 5 hours less a week dealing with backups, Veeam just works.
Prior to Veeam, I had been using Microsoft Data Protection Manager (DPM). That was almost 40 hours a month to administer. The switch to Veeam, was down to 10 doing the same amount of backups.
We don't use the cloud, yet.
Not protecting a NAS, we are using a NAS to backup data to however and that has worked well.
Foxit PDF Editor (FoxitPhantom), Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
I have yet to encounter a virtualization setting that Veeam isn't suited to.
