We use Veeam for our backup software for our credit union. This ensures we have data recovery and redundancy in our backups for our domain controller, file server, and overall network including all staff data.

We have 4 servers we protect and one of those servers is our domain controller and file server which stores data for all of our staff. This product and service fits the bill for our environment. It has been easy to manage for the most part and is pretty much what I was expecting based on a recommendation I had from a consultant.

Prior to using Veeam we only relied on Windows backups. We really needed a redundant solution, but a more reliable solution as well that would be there for us when we need it and allow us to have an additional offsite backup for DR purposes. The triggering action that drove us to change our backup solution to Veeam was virtualization of our servers as well as increased need for secure and easy to restore backups to please auditors.
We don't use Veeam for cloud backup as we don't have a need for third party backup of cloud data since our cloud data is primarily email and our email vendor has their own backup of this data.
We do not utilize Veeam for NAS or file sharing.
