Veeam Backup & Replication

Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

I backup both VM and physical servers in our DCS environment, totaling 30. The mixed environment made managing backups difficult, whereas VEEAM made this easy and efficient. Being able to manage backups from one location, as well as create one-offs on servers too old / incompatible with networked solutions made this the best choice.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • NAS filers
  • In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
  • In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
  • Capacity Tier to store data within object storage for longer term retention
  • License portability as your environment needs change
  • Utilizing backup copies for secondary purposes via DataLabs
  • Immutable storage to protect against ransomware
  • License portability as your environment needs change
  • Ease of use
  • Data integrity
  • Versitlity
  • Licensing model could be easier to understand
  • Cost

30 - what we needed the platform to do
  • Backups kept one system in service after an update killed the application
  • using the backup, we were able to create a new instance of a server to send off for lab testing
After a Cyber Event on our company, we took new steps to protect our servers
We aren't currenlty using the cloud, we use NAS storage
We use NAS storage at different locations to utilize availability in the event of a disaster recover episode.
Veeam shines in environments where you have a mix of virtual and physical hosts. In an all virtual environment, VEEAM is excellent and extremely effective. With physical boxes, you can manage the backups from the orchestrator, or use the stand-alone solution to create one-off backups or scheduled in scenarios where network access is limited.
