Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

We use it to backup Vmware vm's. Works like a charm. Even have it on a few physical boxes and works great.

  • Enterprise applications such as Oracle or SAP HANA
  • Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
  • NAS filers
  • In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
  • In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
  • None of the above
  • None of the above

  • Replication
  • Not sure.. maybe integration with mainframe file systems.

Did implementation of Veeam Data Platform go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?

Yes

It was hundreds of vm's and other servers. But since consolidation, Commvault was already utilized heavily and the consolidated agencies were and are being migrated to Commvault. But I used Veeam exclusively for vm backups while at another agency and would not hesitate to use it again. It's definitely simpler than Commvault.
  • not sure. The product does what we need it to do and the price was reasonable at least a few years ago. I've heard it's getting more expensive.
As our vm environment grew we needed a solid product to backup the environment. Veeam at the time was that top product. It's progressed over the years. It definitely makes backing up the vmware vm's quite simple.
not using it in the cloud.
We've just never had any problems with Veeam. It backs up vmware vm's with ease as well as filesystem data on physical servers. Interface is easy to use. It just works!
