Veeam Backup & Replication

Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

We are currently using Veeam to back up and restore our company data. I have set up new back ups and processed a few restores using the software. It works well and performs as I expect it to. I have used other programs in the past, and Veeam is easy to use and learn.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
  • In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • Enterprise UNIX servers running Solaris & IBM AIX
  • Enterprise applications such as Oracle or SAP HANA
  • Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
  • NAS filers
  • I don’t know
  • None of the above
  • consistant
  • clean and easy to use
  • Great reporting
  • resource hungry
  • often have to restart the server to perform a recovery
  • Can't recover and back up at the same time.

Do you think Veeam Data Platform delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Veeam Data Platform's feature set?

Yes

Did Veeam Data Platform live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Veeam Data Platform go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?

Yes

We have a couple of dozen virtual servers and machines that Veeam protects, it is good at that. I was not involved in the set up, and have only been with the organization for a little under a year. In the cases that I have had to use it, it works very well.
  • It has recovered data
I really don't know where to start with an answer to this question. I am was not part of the decision. I have used back up exec in the past and veeam works very similar to that and I was happy the transition was simple for me. thank you very much.
We haven't used it and I am not sure if we will need this service in the future. We are going to soon be outsourcing out IT department to an outside vendor and this will be their issue. I am migrating to a new position in the organization. So, there is that.
As I have already stated, we use it primarily for back up and recovery of data. It does a well enough job of that. I have not had any issues with the service, aside from having to clear jobs it is working on and restarting the server to be able to recover data.
