Vertex Indirect Tax O Series
Overall Satisfaction with Vertex
Vertex O Series was used by my Tax Department within the organization. It was utilized for Sales/Use tax purposes.
- Great for individuals that are "Retailer's Use" based versus "Sales" based.
- The reports extracted from O Series can be generated for either fiscal or calendar month ends.
- Vertex O Series customer support team is easily accessible.
- Vertex O Series has too much happening within its portal, which can be minimized.
- The portal isn't really very user-friendly and can be a bit confusing for someone that is brand new to it.
- The waiting time to extract a report, such as a compliance report, takes a long time. This can also be something that can be improved.
- Vertex O Series was a bit more expensive for my organization than Vertex Cloud.
- One positive impact that O Series had was that it had the capability to generate fiscal month end reports, and that saved my organization time. Vertex Cloud currently does not have that capability.
- One negative impact of Vertex O Series was that the portal wasn't quite user-friendly, and thus it required more training than Vertex Cloud does.
Vertex O Series allows the end user more control to be able to play with configurations/settings, and in Vertex Cloud, that capability is limited.
- We used a custom-made ERP to integrate with O Series.
The integration was done prior to my joining the company. However, from what I have been told, it wasn't that difficult.
The impact was great and the reports generated at month's end were precise and accurately displayed the transactional details.
If I had to do it again, I would compare all Vertex Solutions and see which one was best fitted to our needs as a company. One solution that works for might not work for all. So far, our upgrade to the Cloud has been great.
